Shin-Chan: Urban Legend Series

Shinnosuke, or Shin Chan, the annoying yet lovable five-year-old is no stranger to all. I was first introduced to this perverted little boy via manga a long time ago and I have watched countless of the anime however, it was not until a few days ago that I found out there is actually a horror series of this anime known as 蜡笔小新都市传说系列.

Loosely translated as "Crayon Shin-chan Urban Legend Series", the anime in this series are a little dark and macabre - very different from the usual slapstick comedy I know. 

I have to admit some are quite disturbing but there are also some which are downright hilarious. I have included the links to a few of my favorite ones here for your viewing pleasure.

初音ミク - 千本櫻 Hatsune Miku - Senbonzakura

I'm probably late but this is the first time I have heard of Hatsune Miku (初音ミク), a humanoid persona voiced by a singing synthesizer application developed by Crypton Future Media.

The name of the character comes from merging the Japanese words for first (初 hatsu), sound (音 ne) and future (ミク miku), thus meaning "the first sound from the future," referring to her position as the first of Crypton's "Character Vocal Series."

Last night, I was horrified to learn of the explosion at Formosa Fun Coast, a water park in Taiwan. Colourful clouds of flammable powder were fired at the party goers out of pressurized canons at the Colour Play Asia party which, unfortunately, ignited and engulfed them in flames.

It was like a scene out of a disaster movie as the victims scramble for their lives in the fire.

At the point of penning this entry, casualties numbered to 500 with close to 200 in ICU.

At Cologne Wallrafplatz, Germany, a lone trumpeter plays the opening credits from the Star Wars movie in the middle of a busy street.

He was joined by the other brass players from the WDR Radio Orchestra who had hidden themselves on the second floor of the surrounding buildings. The strings section then appeared on the streets and take up position at the cafe.

Surprised pedestrians stop in their tracks and whipped out their mobile phones to film the entire act.

At the end of the performance, the musicians disperse and goes their separate ways.

This incident which happened outside the Civil Service Club at Tessensohn Road was caught on camera by the victim's dashboard camera.

In the video, the victim - a taxi driver was seen slowing down as there is another taxi in front.

It is not clear why there are so many people crowding around the taxi in front but it is evident that they are obstructing the traffic.

The driver horned about four times but upon hearing it, a fat man rushed out in a menacing manner, banging on the victim's bonnet with his fist while a skinny man went over to the driver's side and yelled at the victim to get down from his vehicle.

Zeynep (Filiz Akin) is a mute girl who has lost her ability to speak because of an accident.

One day, five prison fugitives came to their house where her father was slained and they took the money meant for her operation to regain her voice.

Due to the shock, Zeynep regains her ability to speak.

The fugitives were caught but Zeynep had wanted to take her own revenge, therefore she told the police that the fugitives are not the ones who have attacked them.

近日在网上看到一则让人气愤的视频想与大家分享。

在影片里，一名幼童因为咳嗽没捂着嘴巴而被坐在一旁的大叔责骂并且“问候”了祖宗十八代。

本来嘛，小孩犯错是应该从小就开始纠正过来的不过，这位大叔的反应也未免太夸张了吧？

This is a spoof of the very same thing by the Chestnuts albeit with a wicked sense of humor.

If my memory did not fail me, a schoolboy and a schoolgirl were both sitting under the shade of a tree with the girl sipping on Ribena from her water bottle. And just like the script in the video above, the boy asked the girl what she was drinking to which she replied, "Ribena, my mother said it's good for me."
