Soup Restaurant @ Jurong Point

Within a matter of days, I had already celebrated Mother's Day twice.

The first was big brother's treat at Penang Place Restaurant while the second was big sister's treat at the Soup Restaurant.

Peanuts with Chili Pepper

This certainly caught everyone's attention as none of has seen such a combination before.

Double Boiled Waisan & Ginseng Roots with Chicken Soup

Kids may not take kindly to this with it's bitter-aftertaste due to the use of Ginseng Roots but it is good for fatigue.

Steamed Red Snapper in Supreme Stock

The "supreme stock" tastes weird but I could not really pinpoint where the problem lies. This dish comes accompanied with a dip of salted bean paste which I do not like.

Samsui Ginger Fortune Platter

Cold platter with their signature Samsui Chicken, BBQ Pork Slices, seasoned Jellyfish, Seafood Roll and Smoked Duck.

Nourishing Fortune Treasure Pot

The contents in the pot included Cordyceps Flower, Dried Scallop, Sea Cucumber, Roasted Pork and Mushrooms.

Fried Rice with Fresh Prawn & Dried Scallop

Carbo for the night.

Fried Broccoli with Fresh Scallop

Pretty ordinary stir-fry dish. The Scallop tastes like they had been sitting in salt water for a very long time.

Steamed Prawns with Vermicelli

Prawns served on a bed of semi-raw tang hoon in tangy sauce.

Being the eve of Mother's Day, there was a perpetual queue at the front of the restaurant that never seem to end. The kitchen might be a little overwhelmed with orders as food took some time to come.

I dislike going to restaurants during special days as that mean food quality and attention from service staff gets compromised.
