Shiok Burger has just opened its latest outlet at Lot One Shoppers' Mall, so I went to check them out on their opening day.

Browsing through the menu on the self-service kiosk, I decided upon the crispy mala chicken burger. I could not believe my eyes when I look at the price.

For $5, I could get myself a mala chicken burger... with a drink included!

River Valley Nasi Lemak @ Lucky Food Centre, Lucky Plaza

It has been a while since I last visited Orchard Road.

Since I am in the vicinity of Lucky Plaza, I decided to seek out lunch at the basement where Lucky Food Centre is.

It is an old haunt of mine where I had my lunch several times each week when I worked nearby decades ago. I would usually have the nasi lemak from River Valley Nasi Lemak as pricing was affordable.

I am not even sure if the stall is still there after all these years, but guess what? It is.

I ordered Set 1 like I always do because it is the most value for money (to me). The set comes with a chicken drumstick, fried fish, otah and egg on top of coconut rice with cucumber and sambal.

Har Burger with Har Soup @ MOS Burger, Jem

In a blink of the eye, 2025 has already crept into August which happens to be Singapore's birthday month.

To celebrate 60 years of independence, the various fast-food giants here have jumped on the chili crab bandwagon to launch their respective menu inspired by our iconic national dish.

McDonald's has collaborated with JUMBO to create the chili crab sauce prawn burger while KFC and Long John Silver's have their versions of the chili crab mantou burger.

MOS Burger, on the other hand, launched the har burger instead. This creation is MOS Burger's take on the classic prawn noodle reimagined between two buns.

"Har" means prawn in Cantonese so, this is actually a prawn burger.
