San Yi Xuan at Kampung Admiralty Food Centre is run by two Chinese nationals offering specialties from Jiangxi, China which is one of the partner's hometown.

Their menu included several rice-based dishes served in bamboo tubes, Chinese soups and grilled fish served with either mala or preserved vegetables.

After a quick browse on the menu, the mixed mushrooms chicken rice served in bamboo tube ($3.50) caught my eyes.

It did not take long for my order to be ready. I was surprised to see a side dish and a bowl of soup all inclusive in the price.

The rice was steamed in a bamboo tube in the steamer. I wonder what kind of rice they used because the grains are kind of small and not like the usual fluffy Jasmine Thai rice.

The rice is adequately flavored and tasted good on its own.

I believe the cubes of chicken meat and various mushrooms were separately fried and later added onto the rice. The portion is paltry and some of the chicken meat were burnt however, I have to say I like for its aroma.

The side dish is made up of long beans and what appeared to be chicken (it does not look like chicken meat yet tasted like chicken).

They are good to have with the rice since they are all savory and nice.

This bowl of seaweed soup is bland and cold.

Their rice-based dishes served in bamboo tubes are: sausage bamboo tube rice ($3.50), seafood rice ($5), vegetarian rice ($2.50), mixed mushroom chicken rice ($3.50), mixed fruit tube rice ($4.50) and whole grains rice ($3.50). They also sell various Chinese soups ranging from $2.80 to $7. The grilled fish ($18) is rather popular, it seems. They used sea bass which is delivered from Malaysia daily.
