Update: Peter Pan Western Food has permanently closed.
Managed by a husband and wife team, Peter Pan Western Food, as its name suggests, is a food stall serving western fare at Bukit Timah Market & Food Centre. What drew my attention to this food stall was actually its catchy name - Peter Pan.
This is probably one of the more popular stalls at the food centre due to their generous food portion at affordable prices.
The husband is the one behind the stove while the wife is at the stall front, taking orders and collecting payments.
It is self-service here. You place your order, make your payment and wait to collect your food.
I ordered my usual chicken chop ($6).

Indeed, I was impressed by the food portion when I received my order. Other than the chicken chop, there are also three side dishes such as potato wedges, coleslaw and baked beans.
The sizeable chicken was drenched with a special tomato-based gravy. It is a creation of the stall owner who remains tight-lipped about the recipe. The gravy does go exceptionally well with the fresh and tender chicken which is just lightly marinated.
Towards the end of my meal, I realized something very important is missing from my chicken chop - the skin!

Blasphemy!
What has happened to it? It is the best part of the meal!
Instead of the normal shoestring or crinkle-cut fries, Peter Pan served potato wedges instead. Did I mention that I love potato wedges?
Their potato wedges are freshly fried so not only is it smokin' hot, it's also crispy along the edges and fluffy on the inside. Very satisfying!
