Update: Ah Liang Ipoh Hor Fun has relocated. The new address has been updated at the bottom of this post.
My first visit to Ah Liang Ipoh Hor Fun was at their Maxwell Food Centre outlet a few weeks ago after an appointment nearby.
I have come across Ah Liang Ipoh Hor Fun during my previous research thus when I happened to stumble across them at Maxwell, I decided to order a plate to try since the lunch crowd has already dispersed with no queue.

They have an impressive menu with ten variations of Ipoh Hor Fun for you to choose from:
- Shredded Chicken Hor Fun with Fried Fish Dumpling & Prawn
- Shredded Chicken Hor Fun with Fried Fish Dumpling & Crab Meat
- Seafood Hor Fun
- Fried Fish Dumpling Seafood Hor Fun
- Prawn Hor Fun
- Shredded Chicken Hor Fun
- Fried Fish Dumpling Hor Fun
- Crab Meat Hor Fun
- Fried Wanton Hor Fun
- Mushroom Hor Fun
Fried fish dumpling is their specialty and a hot favorite among the customers thus, I ordered item number 7 on the menu, which is fried fish dumpling hor fun.
I liked the dish very much then therefore I decided to have it again when I saw their other outlet at Market Street Interim Hawker Centre.
Ipoh hor fun has always been one of my favorite dish as I enjoy slurping on the silky hor fun drenched in the savory sauce. What makes Ah Liang Ipoh Hor Fun stand out is that their sauce have a subtle herbal taste to it which is not found in the others.
As mentioned earlier, their plump and meaty fried fish dumpling is the star here. Despite being fish dumpling, I doubt the filling inside is 100% fish meat. They might have mixed in minced chicken perhaps (I might be wrong though so do correct me in the comments if you know).
The fish dumplings are served hot and crispy during both visits. I believe the stall fry small batches of the fish dumplings at a time so the dumplings do not get cold. You can hear the dumpling skin go crunch with every bite.
Don't forget to get some mayonnaise that is provided in front of the stall to dip your fried fish dumplings with.
The queue can be quite daunting but clears quite fast. Go earlier like me if you do not want to queue.
