Here is the synopsis of the movie.
Join Lightning McQueen and Mater as they leave Radiator Spring for Japan, Italy, France and England to participate in the World Grand Prix.
Unbeknowst to the world, "Lemons" - a group of villains made up entirely of ordinary cars, was planning a sinister plot to sabotage the race.
Mater, who has always prided himself as the best friend of McQueen, bungled up and causes the latter to lose his first race in Japan. Dejected, he decides to return to Radiator Spring alone.
At the airport, flashbacks of him embarrassing McQueen with his bungling ways in front of everyone came flooding back but, who could blame him? He has been living in Radiator Spring all his life and it was his first time out in the big city. The thought of him not being as refined as McQueen's other friends in the racing industry made him felt even worst.
Just before boarding the plane, he was grossly mistaken as a secret agent by British Intelligence and whisked away on a mission to save his best friend who happens to be the next target on the Lemon's hit list!
Watch how, as Mater, an old tow truck became the unlikely hero of the day, saving the world's fastest cars from certain destruction and him teaching the Lemons a lesson that not everyone can be a fancy race car but those made for different purposes should simply be themselves.

Everyone knows that Lightning McQueen is the star of CARS 1 however, it was his best friend, Mater, who became the protagonist in this sequel.
Mater is goofy and adorable with those buck teeth!
I find myself alot like him.
I arrived outside the cinema to see no one there at the premiere even though I am already 5 minutes past the stipulated time to collect the tickets.
Luckily, it did not take me long to realise that I am actually at Plaza Singapura instead of The Cathay! Duh!
Back to the movie, what amazed me most was how Pixar's managed to humanize the cars.
Do you know how a car drink cocktail? Have you ever watched a car sumo-wrestle? Did you even know how a car visits the Japanese bathroom?
Meet Okuni!
I like how Pixar paid attention to minor details from the neon lights of Tokyo to the adrenaline pumping racing scenes! It was sheer brilliance!
Of course, the ultimate message around friendship and being yourself worked pretty well as well!
If you love spy movies, action and fast cars, CARS 2 is the movie for you.
CARS 2 is opening in Singapore theaters on 25th August
